“It was he who gave some as apostles, some as prophets,
some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers,
to equip the saints for the work of ministry,
that is, to build up the body of Christ,”
(Ephesians 4:11–12, NET)
We are always fascinated by how He brings together the correct skills needed for the job at hand. We have seen this at every project we have worked on. It occurred again at Escapade 2021.
Four SOWER couples came together from all points on the compass and for the most part, we had not worked together before. Each of us had skills in the different areas needed to represent the ministry. The team had pastors and missionaries, teachers, evangelists, and other gifts that were put to use during the week we were in Rock Springs, WY
This allowed us to
- Hand out 141 brochures (that included actual talking with folks)
- Hand out 69 pens, 40 badges (or buttons), and 47 magnets.
- Engage with 135 visitors that stopped at our table. (As as far as we can tell we only missed three people who wanted to talk but got away.)
- Had 50+ people attend our SOWER presentation!
As one fellow SOWER remarked: “We come together as strangers and leave as good friends.” All four couples are now on the road headed to their next assignment, once again, to all points of the compass.
We are in Worland, WY, resting and exploring a local museum and the area for a couple of days before heading to Piedmont, SD, and then on to Cedar Canyon Camp near Rapid City, SD. We look forward to meeting our new SOWER friends who will join together for the August project! 🤠 🤗
This week’s Blessings, Prayer Requests, and Schedule are here.
