“He gives strength to those who are tired;
to the ones who lack power,
he gives renewed energy.”
(Isaiah 40:29, NET)
Isaiah’s readers were tired and discouraged captives in Babylon. He wrote to encourage them and reminded them that “…The Lord is an eternal God, the creator of the whole earth. He does not get tired or weary; .…” (Isaiah 40:28, NET) Because of this, He can and will give strength and energy to the weary!
During our first week at Lighthouse, the SOWER men installed drain lines for several cottages. Last week they repaired heavy wooden picnic tables and then began preparing two new RV sites. Last Thursday, they started digging the trenches and placing a sewer drain to one of the previously installed septic tanks. This week they will continue installing sewer, fresh water, and electrical power by first digging the trenches for these utilities.
Of the over two dozen month-long, SOWER projects we’ve worked on, this project has been the most physically demanding. The men are in their mid to late 60s and are doing work that tires even younger workers. Thankfully, they only have to work 6 hours/day, but that still makes for a long day. They know their source of strength and energy comes from above. They could not do this on their own.
We are grateful for the opportunity to help the various ministries do what they are called to do. This past week, Lighthouse Christian Camp had a week-long, family camp. They provided Bible studies, seminars, and fun activities to over 600 attendees. We are just a small part of helping to make these programs happen. 🤠🤗
This week’s Blessings, Prayer Requests, and Schedule are here.
