On The Road Again!

Five months ago, we waited out an ice storm before heading to Huntsville to assist with maintenance at Forest Glen Camp. Thankfully, no more nasty weather interfered with our return to the SOWER office at the end of February. However, the weather here in Texas is always something to be aware of.

Last Thursday, we set out from the SOWER office for our trip to Idaho Falls, ID, with a stop at Hickory Creek COE Campground near Denton, TX. We were here for our grandson’s wedding. We had planned to leave today (Tuesday). However, after reviewing the weather on Sunday, we decided to stay here for another day to take advantage of better conditions. Thankfully, we were able to reschedule our stops without too many problems. Now, we are just relaxing and waiting for it all to blow over!

We finished our three months at the SOWER office, helping to keep things running smoothly. Our coworkers returned from their three-month travels to the Southeast, where they worked on several SOWER projects and have now taken up the reins in the office.

For our trip back to Idaho, we were undecided on the route to take. As we thought and prayed about it, the SOWER office received a request for SOWER assistance from Maranatha Bible Camp in Nebraska (NE). It appears to be a good fit for the SOWER ministry. Since we couldn’t decide on a suitable route to take to Idaho, we decided to head to NE and visit the camp instead! After meeting with the camp representatives, inspecting the camp, and an overnight visit, we’ll write up our findings and then head to Idaho via central Wyoming (Casper and Jackson).

We’re looking forward to getting back to Idaho and seeing family and friends! 👏🏻
