We continue to believe that
“… all things work together for good for those who love God,
who are called according to his purpose,”
(Romans 8:28)
We are extremely grateful to have our trusty steed back in the stable, but the servicing saga is not over! Although it has been a frustrating repair road, there have also been blessings.
The blessings along the way included transportation: while we were without a truck, we had unlimited use of a friend’s while they were away. Although the repair shop did not locate the expensive replacement parts they thought were needed (He was definitely watching out for us), they were able to reuse the existing parts. They are covering their repair work (parts and labor) with a 3-year, 36,000-mile warranty. The weather has been great, and we’ve not lacked anything. There has been much to do at the office, so going places was not an option.
But this was not the only blessing even though there is another challenge. When Bruce got the truck home and checked for leaks, he discovered more drips in the same leak location as before! As they had to replace the engine oil with the repair of the oil pan leak, the oil he found was new. There had to be another leak, or the repair was not done correctly!
Back to the shop he went, fearful of a new, expensive repair bill. After inspection, they determined there was another component with a leaking gasket. When the owner of the repair shop came to tell Bruce, he also offered to repair it free of charge! This was a nice, unexpected Christmas present! 😊
Although we’ll have to return it after Christmas for the repair, it will be nice to hopefully have these oil leaks completely repaired! We are hopeful that the stable will not remain empty for an extended period of time while the additional repair work is completed!
