It is hard to believe these past four weeks have flown by, this month is almost gone, and the new year is just around the corner! As Bruce sat down to provide this update he realized that he has not written anything for a month! Perhaps we need to take a lesson from our furry housemate who on Christmas morning knew how to relax in the chaos around him!
Our “work” was challenging: remodeling two bathrooms in a dorm that has 88 beds. The dorm was constructed many decades ago and has numerous challenges: plumbing, electrical, structural, etc. Every time we tried to do something we ran into another issue. Thankfully, we did make progress!
By spending winters in the south we miss being with our son in Idaho. This is hard as we spent so many years in China away from family and we hate missing the holidays with him and his family. But, we’ve been able to spend a good amount of time with our daughter and her family. One of her sons who is in the Marines was allowed leave for the holidays, so we’ve been able to see all four of her kids throughout the month!
We look forward to 2023 and what we will be doing. We are appreciative of another month at Lake Lavon and the opportunity to spend more time with our daughter’s family. In the coming months, we will work at two projects we’ve not worked at before in Lindale, TX, and Anadarko, OK. We are also planning to work at a possible new project in Wisconsin in May. Then we plan to head to Idaho for some R&R and to spend time with our son, his boys, and Katie’s sisters. However, these are our plans. We will let the Lord direct our steps!
