Jehovah Jireh

And Abraham called the name of that place

‘The Lord provides.’ [Jehovah Jireh]

It is said to this day, “In the mountain of the Lord provision will be made.”

(Genesis 22:14, NET)

Our mobile hotspot, that little device that keeps us connected to the internet and to the rest of the world, began to die. Thankfully, the individual we work with for our internet service replaced it for free. The new hotspot would be waiting for us when we arrived at Camp Barnabas. In the meantime, we would have to do the best we could.

While traveling from Idaho our inverter began to have issues. (The inverter is what allows us to use our batteries to run 110 AC loads, such as the microwave, coffee pot, etc.) After a couple of on-the-road diagnostic tests, the company from whom we bought the inverter concluded it will need to be replaced. However, their new inverters are on back order. For the duration, they provided a way we can work around this until the new replacement arrives, free of charge, at the end of September.

Just before arriving at Camp Barnabas, we noticed water overflowing from our freshwater tank while connected to city water. “Oh no, now what?” With some quick trouble shooting and a little internet research we determined our 4-way freshwater selector valve was failing. (Our new hotspot was awaiting us at Camp Barnabas, but we were not there yet. Our failed hotspot revived itself temporarily, allowing us to do the internet research!) A new valve was ordered online and will be here this week. Bruce should be able to replace it when it arrives.

We read and hear constantly that if one cannot do their own trouble shooting and minor repair work, they should not try to live full time in an RV. After this past two weeks, we agree!

However, it is not all up to us. God is indeed our Jehovah Jireh, the God who provides. He demonstrated that to us over and over these past couple of weeks as he provided the wisdom and replacement parts we needed, places to stay as we traveled, etc. Just as He did for Abraham, He will and does provide for us. Yet it is a “both/and” type of situation. We, too, have to do our part to the best of our ability, and then trust Him for wisdom and knowledge, and He will do the rest!

This weekend was particularly rainy and there were few people at the camp. So, we decided that our indoor, rainy day project was to repaint the lighting fixture above the kitchen island in our fifth wheel. It is heavy looking and dark (see above), and we had wanted to change to a lighter look and feel for quite some time. Here is a sneak peek of the beginning of the changes (below). We will provide an update on the finished project soon!

Have a great week as you watch and see how He faithfully provides for you!

This week’s Blessings, Prayer Requests, and Schedule are here.

Love your new overhead light makeover. We feel your pain with all the speed bumps, hang in there, you must be doing God’s will as their is someone fighting in the wings. Persevere, He will see you through. Gail

Gail, thanks for the encouragement! The light fixture is not done yet. We’re going to lighten up that dark grill work. Stay tuned! BTW, the $170 new Anderson 4-way valve is installed and will be covered by our warranty. God is good … all the time! 🤠
