He Will Be With You

The Lord is indeed going before you—he will be with you;

he will not fail you or abandon you.

Do not be afraid or discouraged!”

(Deuteronomy 31:8, NET)

The verse above has become one of our “go-to” verses. When Moses commissioned Joshua to take his place as the leader of the people of Israel, he encouraged Joshua with these words. We see these same words frequently in Deut. 31:1-8 and the first chapter of Joshua: “Do not be afraid or discouraged.” We have often applied those verses as we travel through unknown and potentially difficult situations.

We have now traveled and spent time in 42 of the lower 48 states. Our home on wheels has traveled over 31,000 miles these past 3+ years. We have been extremely thankful that there have been no significant problems or catastrophes along the way. There have been needed repairs and times of white-knuckle driving situations, such as driving through downtown Houston, TX, in Friday afternoon traffic! Yet, He has always gone before us, and we’ve been filled with His peace. We were not afraid or discouraged and always made it safely to our planned destination.

When we leave here in three weeks, we will travel south and visit a few more states we’ve not “slept in” (the criteria for putting a state on our map). We hope to take about five (5) weeks to travel back to our next assignment in TX, visiting family and friends along the way. We also hope to visit a few more SOWER projects to learn more about their work. As we travel, we will continue to remember that “The Lord is indeed going before [us]”! 🤠🤗

This week’s Blessings, Prayer Requests, and Schedule are here.
