He Empowers Us

He has filled him [Bezalel] with the Spirit of God

—with skill, with understanding, with knowledge,

and in all kinds of work,”

(Exodus 35:31, NET)

There are times when I, (Bruce), feel like Bezalel in Exodus. It seems that we are asked to do many different types of skilled work, from plumbing to electrical to carpentry to painting to tile work, etc. Even from one day to the next, we will not know what we will be working on. In most cases, we have not had specific training in these areas, yet the work gets done well.

It is the same with the ladies. They have been sewing and mending since the start of this project. One of the SOWER gals hasn’t sewn since home economics class in high school, and now she is stitching right along with the rest. They may, or may not, continue in the sewing room for the rest of our time here. A higher priority project, such as recovering the auditorium seats, may present itself and off they will go on that assignment.

This can be a challenge, but it is never boring! The day pictured above, I was re-plumbing the sink drains in the gym bathrooms. The day before the men were painting stalls. Today I was attaching the sink countertop frames to the walls and securing the countertops to the framing. The day finished with preparations to install the front panel pieces under the sinks that the other men had cut.

Tomorrow we will finish installing the sink counter panels and lay tiles. The ventilation grating needs cleaning, priming, and painting. That will be started tomorrow, along with installing new lighting. We are trying to get this bathroom remodel done so we can move to the next major project: reinstalling the auditorium seating (300+ seats). These had been removed last month so the auditorium could be re-carpeted. And … we only have just under two weeks until the end of this month’s project! 😳

It is only through the empowerment of the Holy Spirit that we can do this work. It is He who brings the people together and gives us the wisdom, knowledge, skill, and endurance to help these ministries so that they can accomplish their part of Kingdom work!  🤠🤗

This week’s Blessings, Prayer Requests, and Schedule are here.
