“Whatever you are doing, work at it with enthusiasm,
as to the Lord and not for people,”
(Colossians 3:23, NET)
We certainly worked with enthusiasm last week, perhaps with a bit too much! We’re ready for a break!
Bruce has remarked several times that this project is the most physically taxing of all our projects worked thus far. The first week was not too bad. However, last week after spending Monday crawling back and forth under a flatbed utility trailer to string new wiring for lights, the work got physically intense! Bruce and Jim cut log “rounds” to act as the base for benches around the new campfire pit.
An excavator was thankfully employed to move the huge logs into position so they could be cut into ~15” lengths; (see pictures below). After cutting about 30 of them, the rounds were moved to the fire pit location. 1”x 3” x 10’ boards were used to lay out the campfire pit. Gravel was brought from another location and spread out and then the rounds moved into place. The benches are 4” x 12” x 12’ planks. Between moving the log rounds and placing and securing the heavy planks to the rounds, we got a fatiguing workout!
Katie and Candy also got a workout painting exterior doors and trim as well as prepping other locations for painting this week. Painting low and high, bending, stretching, etc. all add up to a strenuous week. We certainly worked with enthusiasm (or was it with great energy)! But the sore muscles are worth it when we remember we are doing this work for the Lord, not for people. 🤠 🤗
This week’s Blessings, Prayer Requests, and Schedule are here.
