Created to Work

“… I have chosen Bezalel …
and I have filled him with the Spirit of God in skill,
in understanding, in knowledge, …,”

(Exodus 31:2–4)

A friend of ours recently texted and noted she could not find any update about our work since March 24. We discovered that she was correct! It would be nice if we could report that we have been taking life easy, but alas that is not the case!

“The Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to work it and keep it.” (Genesis 2:15, ESV). God created man to work. The first man and his wife were to work in a garden and maintain it. We returned to mankind’s ancient job this past weekend and experienced what Adam and Eve might have felt so many millennia ago: weeding a garden!

However, maintaining a garden was not the only skill He gave to mankind. As noted in the scripture above He has filled each of us with this Spirit to accomplish many things. To some was the ability to work with their hands and make things, to others it was more of an administrative, organizational skill.

The work we are now doing is more the latter: using our administrative and organizational skills. We have been quite busy in the SOWER office trying to keep up with all that is needed to help our ministry partners and SOWER volunteers accomplish that which He has called all of us to do. We have learned much but at times the details can be a bit overwhelming!

We are glad that we can use our experience to help the SOWER ministry. However, we look forward to heading to Idaho in a few months to visit our son and his family, Katie’s sisters, and other friends in the area. Please continue to pray that we can be an asset to this ministry in the next couple of months. 🤠🤗

This week’s Blessings, Prayer Requests, and Schedule are here.
