“There are many plans in a person’s mind,
but it is the counsel of the Lord that will stand.”
(Proverbs 19:21, NET 2nd ed.)
Our granddaughter’s future in-laws had a litter of Golden-doodle pups from their two Golden-doodles. They gave the pick of the litter to Hannah’s fiancé, Zachary. Our daughter decided she would also like to have a dog again after losing her two a couple of years ago. Then after they decided to get their puppies, Sarah and Hannah went up to visit the pups and both thought it would be a good idea for us to also get one of the pups because she is so sweet!
Our inherited fur baby, Mr. Lucky, is a Lhasa Apso around 12 years old. We don’t know his exact age as he was a rescue that we inherited from Bruce’s mother. He has been a great traveler and quiet companion. He doesn’t hear well anymore and has developed the typical age-related cataracts so his sight is limited. He still gets around well, but we know that he will not be here forever.
We’ve been thinking about getting another dog for a while to eventually replace Mr. Lucky when the time comes. We think that by getting another dog before we have to say goodbye to Lucky, he might be able to help train a puppy. However, we figured it would be a year or more before we got another dog, and it would be a small breed dog so a Golden-doodle was not even on our radar!
The Bible Knowledge Commentary provides the following about the cited verse: “A person may and should make plans but God can sovereignly overrule and accomplish His purpose through what one seemingly plans on his own.” We are not sure what His purpose and plans are for us, but we know that He will accomplish them regardless of what we might plan to do! So we introduce you to our sweet 7-week-old, Salome. 🤠🤗
