“Whatever you are doing, work at it with enthusiasm,
as to the Lord and not for people,”
(Colossians 3:23)
We are at the Trinity Pines Conference Center in Trinity, TX. From what we understand, they have about 500 acres, of which about 150 are developed. From “motels” to cabins, lodges, and bunk houses, as well as a large cafeteria and worship centers, they have a lot to take care of. They only have about fifteen or so full-time staff. That is where our volunteer ministry and other volunteers come in. The camp also has a beautiful and quiet RV park amongst the trees where we can relax at the end of the day.
Our SOWER team may be singularly focused on cleaning out overgrown planters, raking up pine needles from around the camp to use as mulch, and trimming overgrown bushes, but there is a much bigger focus. As noted in the picture above, this conference center is dedicated to maintaining a spiritual setting where those who come here can experience God and know Him better.
At the end of the day, we may be physically worn out, but we cannot forget why we are here. We have no idea how God may inspire someone who comes here to do great things for His glory. Perhaps they sat beside that cleaned-out planter, mind and body at peace, and were inspired by the beauty of His creation. We will never know, but the thought of His using us in this way keeps us going. 🤠🤗
