“So then, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation;
what is old has passed away —
look, what is new has come!”
(2 Corinthians 5:17, NET)
Recently the SOWER ladies undertook the task of painting the shutters on the SOWER office. Although hard to see in the smaller image above, the change from the old, faded, rusty burgundy to the new, bright SOWER blue transformed the look of the office. It also got Bruce thinking.
The Apostle Paul doesn’t just encourage, but he exhorts in the strongest possible way for believers to not conform to the world, but be transformed. Bruce likes the illustration below as it depicts that to be transformed there must be some action taken. The action taken on the shutters was painting, and it was not an easy task. It was tedious at best! The action we need to take is to pour into our minds His word. It is only through the transformative power of the Word that we will be able to resist conforming to the world around us. When we are transformed, we then shine brightly in the world!

We pretty much completed the items we were asked to work on at the office. We’ve made our travel plans for the next month and will head to Clear Lake Campground for about 12 days of rest. We’ve also made reservations at just about every stop along the way to our June project at Heartland Retreat and Conference Center in OH. We are looking forward to some needed time off!
This week’s Blessings, Prayer Requests, and Schedule are here.
