“Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice;
let the sea roar, and all that fills it;
let the field exult, and everything in it!
Then shall all the trees of the forest sing for joy before the Lord,…”
(Psalm 96:11–13a, ESV)
It was a surprise, and even a bit hard to believe, that within such a short distance of Lake Retreat Camp and the greater Seattle area there is such beauty! Our fellow SOWERs, who’ve lived in this area for over 35 years, took us on a Sunday afternoon drive. The weather cooperated and we were blessed to visit this beautiful waterfall.
Our drive was a pleasant end to a busy week. Bruce and Jim modified three dining hall entry doors and repaired a wind-damaged fourth door. They also added a window to a small building and built a shelf so the staff could start a “snack shack” near the lake. They finished out the week by starting to rewire the lights on a camp utility, flatbed trailer.
Katie and Candy deep cleaned one of the lodges and identified items needing repair. Bruce and Jim will most likely follow up on most of those repairs this coming week. The gals will finish the deep cleaning this week and do some outdoor painting of cottage and lodge doors, while Bruce and Jim finish the trailer wiring and complete a plumbing repair. There is an endless list of repairs and painting projects to complete.
In all our work, we are grateful for the beautiful surroundings that remind us daily to rejoice with the earth and sing for joy with the forest trees before the Lord! 🤠🤗
This week’s Blessings, Prayer Requests, and Schedule are here.
