Old Faithful Christian Ranch

And without faith it is impossible to please him,

for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists

and that he rewards those who seek him.”

(Hebrews 11:6, ESV)

In eastern Idaho, nestled in the towering lodgepole pines of Island Park, is a small Christian camp and retreat ranch. Close to Yellowstone National Park, this beautiful, rustic setting provides a wonderful location to get away and learn about Christianity and who Jesus is, or for those who are believers to grow close to our Heavenly Father. This week there are 100 young people here enjoying God’s creation and learning more about Him. It was wonderful to see and hear so many happy campers after the last year of nearly empty camps and retreat centers.

We drove the 100 miles to the camp today (Tuesday) to share the SOWER ministry with the current camp director and another board member. They had never heard of SOWERs and were extremely excited to learn that there are hundreds of SOWER volunteers who might be willing to come and help the camp!

We also had another ulterior motive in checking out the camp: Our son and his youngest son still live in Idaho Falls. We would love to come here next summer to help at the camp and be closer to our son! We are excited about the possibilities we saw while at the camp! (You can check out more pictures at the link below.)

This week is busy. We are preparing to head to Rock Springs, WY for the Escapee organization’s 60th annual rally: Escapade 2021. We, along with three other  SOWER couples will set up a booth to advertise the SOWER ministry. We leave Thursday morning from our current temporary home in Shelley, ID, and then at the end of Escapade 2021, we will make our way to Rapid City, SD for our next SOWER project (see schedule below).

We have had a wonderful time visiting family here in Idaho Falls this past month and we are sad to be heading down the road so soon. But, we are looking forward to joining new SOWER friends in serving the Lord wherever, whenever, and doing whatever over the next several months!

This week’s Blessings, Prayer Requests, and Schedule are here.
