I will lie down and sleep peacefully,

for you, Lord,

make me safe and secure.”

(Psalm 4:8, NET)

From tornado warnings to working on extremely slippery surfaces, this verse hit home for us this past month.

One night their alarms went off at zero-dark hundred (about 1 AM) notifying them that we needed to head to the storm shelter. Our SOWER teammates headed out and wondered why we did not join them! (We did not get a warning and slept through the storm!) Suffice to report we are well! It was just an example of our working hard, playing hard, and sleeping hard! 😉

Our big project was to strip, prep/mask, and stain the Memorial Chapel exterior siding and steeple/ bell tower. We learned this chapel carries a lot of sentimental value and the camp’s board was reluctant to have any work done on the exterior for fear of damaging it. The pressure was on to do well and the job was given to our SOWER team. Apparently, we did a great job, as the maintenance staff was quite pleased with the work!

We also had several other projects that were completed. You can see many these projects in this month’s pictures at: https://lightroom.adobe.com/shares/24a20d39e9274ad093e27479d87a77cb.

On the last day of work, we were notified that two of the maintenance staff had come down with COVID. We had not worked directly with them but had brief contact with one of the guys while he was symptomatic. Again, we trust in Him for our security (and we are feeling well at this time).

Today, we have a day of rest on our way to Riverbend Retreat. We enjoy staying at the  Corp of Engineers campgrounds and always wish we could stay longer! 🤠 🤗

This week’s Blessings, Prayer Requests, and Schedule are here.
