Mercy Ships Project Complete

Whatever you are doing, work at it with enthusiasm,

as to the Lord and not for people,”

(Colossians 3:23, NET)

This verse became our project verse. Of the four of us, only one loved to dig in the dirt and play with flowers. The other three were totally clueless when we started, and not much better upon the conclusion of the project. However, we learned that it really wasn’t what we wanted to do but what was needed done that was important.

The surprising number of “Thank You for all your hard work” comments, in the end, made it all worthwhile. We realized that these untended flower beds, totally ignored by those who passed by, were noticeably improved with a little “knee work”!

In a couple of days we will leave our temporary home shown below and head to our next project in Princeton, TX: Lake Lavon Camp and Conference Center. We will spend the next two months there and will learn what they need us to do when we get there. As always, please pray for our safety as we travel and work at the camp, and our health as we often work outside in inclement weather.

(This week’s Blessings, Prayer Requests, and Schedule are here).

Working in flower beds (aka dirt) is my happy place! The parking at Mercy Ships is better than I remember. Do you know if you are going to new parking digs at Lake Lavon? Gail
