“Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise!
Give thanks to him; bless his name!”
(Psalm 100:4, ESV)
This verse could not have been more appropriate. As we returned to Lake Lavon Camp, after weathering the electrical and ice storms in Anadarko, OK, and then three days of cold rain and wind on Lake Texoma, we were extremely thankful to enter the gates at Lake Lavon Camp!
No, they are not the gates of Jerusalem (God’s gates), but they were almost as welcoming! We were giving thanks to Him for our safety as we traveled from Oklahoma to our new assignment for November at Lake Lavon.
It turned out to be a beautiful weekend and “homecoming”! Mild temperatures, cloudless days, and an opportunity to reconnect with our daughter and her family.
Their family lost both their dogs this past year so our grandson was getting some dog-loving time with Lucky. Of course, Mr. Lucky was soaking up all the attention and not in the least bit concerned about being carried! 😉
We will be here for the next two months for our SOWER assignment. And what an interesting assignment! 🤣
Remember the trash can enclosures we built at Camp Barnabas in Missouri in September? The folks here at Lake Lavon saw the pictures from our update while we were there and concluded they needed to upgrade their trash can enclosures! They have about 20 of them they would like to have replaced! We think this should keep us busy for the next several weeks! We are excited to work on this assignment together (we are the only SOWERs here this month)!
We are so glad to be here and look forward to the next two months of work and family time! 🤠 🤗
