“…Go to whomever I send you and say whatever I tell you.
Do not be afraid of those to whom I send you,
for I will be with you to protect you,” says the Lord.”
(Jeremiah 1:7–8, NET)
Before the prophet Jeremiah was even born he had been chosen by God to spread the Lord’s message. God told him what he was to do and it was going to be dangerous. But, God also assured Jeremiah that He would protect him (Jer 1:8).
Imbedded in the SOWER logo is the reference to Isa 6:8, “I heard the voice of the sovereign master say, ‘Whom will I send? Who will go on our behalf?’ I answered, ‘Here I am, send me!’” (Isaiah 6:8, NET). We also answer that call, “Here we are, send us” to the camps and ministries that need help.
The work we do is not always cleaning or painting. We often work with and around heavy equipment and power tools. If we are not careful, there is a risk of injury. Although we try hard to stay safe, we also rely heavily on the Lord to protect us. We rest in the knowledge that He has called us and He will protect us as He promised Jeremiah.
This past week was physically demanding for the guys as they worked hard to get a drain line installed at a group of cabins that were to be used during this week’s Family Camp. It was finished in time, including laying sod to cover all the excavation.
We understand that the next weeks’ assignment will be to begin work on two new RV sites that will be used by future SOWERs when they come here to work. It will once again be physically demanding, working around heavy equipment, and again we will be trusting in the Lord to keep us safe as we work.
Happy 4th of July, Everyone! 🤠🤗
