“Let us not lose heart in doing good,
for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary.”
(Galatians 6:9, NASB95)
The Quonset hut at the top of the picture is The Barn (see image below for an inside look). Instead of a garage sale, Hope house has several “Barn Sales” each year to raise operating funds. People from around the area donate things for the sale, and due to its size, it is well attended.
Last year we had no idea of what we were getting into when we volunteered to help. We did not know they had a Barn Sale scheduled and we did not know the amount of work that went into preparing for it and handling the hundreds of people who come. Although we are two months earlier this year, we did not know they had another one scheduled at this time! This week we will be getting things ready for yet another huge barn sale!
Last year we had six SOWER couples helping. This year we have two SOWER couples and one other guest couple who came to help. Hope House has not had a sale since last August 2020, so this week’s sale could be even bigger than last year’s sale. We are feeling a bit overwhelmed with the work required!
Bruce is anticipating putting his bookshelf project on hold to help the others prepare for the sale. It will be hard work, but we hope we will be a blessing to the Hope House staff and those attending. Please pray for our safety (lots of lifting as furniture is also for sale), our health, and for a good sale that will raise needed funds for Hope House.
This week’s Blessings, Prayer Requests, and Schedule are here.
